Catch Outland's energetic show Rave The City on Safehouse Radio every 3rd Wednesday from 8pm.
Outland's first taste in electronic music came in 1991 when his parents bought him a Walkman and the Thin Ice 2 double tape. Once at secondary school and following on from being bullied, he started hanging around with other boys who introduced him to the world of Dreamscape and Sterns, DJs like Lenny Dee and Madness, Luke Slater etc and he was given some copies of tapes circa 1993.
Outland loved the techno sound and then started buying his record collection from then on. His dad bought him a pair of belt drive turntables and a mixer and he was soon trying to mix. He'd make half decent mix tapes and give them to people at school.
Outland started going to events circa 95 underage but we won't go into that! He's been into the hardcore and techno scene as well as trance and some house & DnB as well ever since. The name Outland is influenced by the 1981 Sean Connory film of the same name, depicting corporate dehumanization. He likes to think in today's mad world people can escape that and listen to his mixes as a release from all their worries.
